For patients

Is DocZen free for patients?
Yes. Searching and booking on DocZen costs nothing. You only ever pay the clinic's own consultation fee.
Do I pay DocZen when I book an appointment?
No. DocZen does not collect any payment from patients. You pay the clinic directly, at the visit, the same way you would if you had walked in or called them yourself.
Can I book an appointment for my mother, father or child?
Yes, and this is the normal case on DocZen, not an exception. Add them as a patient under your account and book on their behalf.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes, at any time, free of charge. We only ask that you cancel as early as you can so the clinic can offer that slot to someone else who needs it.
How do you verify surgeons before listing them?
We check the surgeon's medical council registration number against the relevant state medical council register before the profile goes live. A profile that does not check out does not go up.
Is my health and appointment data safe?
Your appointment data is treated as sensitive personal data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, because it can reveal that a named person consulted a named doctor of a named speciality. We never sell it, and you can request deletion at any time. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Are the wait times shown real?
We are deliberately honest here. Where a clinic gives us its own estimate, we show that. Once we have enough completed visits at a clinic to measure a real median wait, we show that instead. If we do not have either yet, we say we do not know rather than invent a number.
Does DocZen offer video or online consultations?
Yes, where the doctor offers them. If a doctor has video consultations switched on, you can choose between visiting the clinic and a video call when you book. You get a private join link that works in any browser, nothing to install. The fee is paid to the clinic directly, and they will share their payment details with you.
What happens if the surgeon runs late?
Appointment times belong to the clinic, and clinics can run behind schedule for reasons outside anyone's control, most often an earlier patient's visit taking longer than planned. We show the clinic's own estimate to help you plan, but we cannot guarantee the exact minute.
Is this for medical emergencies?
No. DocZen books planned, non-urgent appointments only. If this is an emergency, call 112 or go to your nearest hospital immediately.

For surgeons and clinics

What does it cost a surgeon or clinic to list on DocZen?
DocZen charges a subscription fee for the software and listing, not a fee per patient or per booking. We do not take a cut of your consultation fee. See our Terms for the exact framing, since this distinction matters under Indian medical ethics regulation.
How does DocZen verify my registration?
We check your medical council registration number against your state medical council's public register (or the NMC register) before your profile goes live, and periodically thereafter.
Can I control my own availability and slots?
Yes. The slots shown to patients come from availability you set. DocZen does not invent or pad your schedule.
